Welcome to Love Cuba!
I am Damien O’Brien head of Love Cuba, I have worked in travel for over 25 years and during that time I have been fortunate enough to travel the globe, in all that time however Cuba is the one destination that really stands out as being unique, I have been there countless times and travelled the whole Island.Cuba really does have everything, Preserved Colonial cities, 9 official UNESCO world Heritage sites, Mountain ranges and rain forests, wildlife, Scuba diving, nightlife, some of the best beaches in the world, history and culture in abundance and of course the wonderful Cuban people who are amongst the friendliest in the world, Cuba really does have something for everyone.
Our aim is to share our expertise and love of this wonderful country with our clients, once you have been, we know that you will feel the same way about it as we do.
I have been working in the travel industry for over 15 years specialising in the Caribbean and in particular Cuba.
I have been lucky enough to have travelled all over the Caribbean, but it is fair to say that Cuba is my favourite place, visiting the country is like stepping back in time, the Cuban people appreciate the simple things in Life, I love experiencing the vibrant culture, the cobbled streets, the horse driven carts, the classic American cars and the amazing Cuban Salsa dancing. Over the years I have gathered an in depth knowledge and love for Cuba, I have tailored some amazing trips which have helped to create wonderful memories for my clients many of whom have returned, some year after year.
Cuba is one of the few places in the world that offers you everything from history, culture, nature, adventure and not forgetting some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see anywhere in the world. That is why I simply “Love Cuba”
I decided from a very young age that I wanted to work within the Travel Industry after my father decided to get married in the Caribbean, originally I wanted to be an air stewardess, as it looked very glamorous and it would give me the opportunity to visit more beautiful countries. When I left college almost 17 years ago, I started working for a tour operator and I have worked in the industry ever since. I have travelled extensively around the Caribbean, and I am very fond of the whole region however I have really fallen in Love with Cuba as the people are very friendly and welcoming, Cuba has beautiful beaches, good music and of course the best rum in the world!
I have travelled the whole country and really enjoy helping people to discover this wonderful Island.
I have worked in the travel industry for 36 years; I have travelled to many destinations all over the world, but Cuba holds a special place in my heart for me, I have been lucky enough to visit Cuba many times and each time it has been more memorable than the last.
Cuba is the largest Caribbean Island and has over 3,500 miles of coastline with amazing beaches many of which are recognized as being amongst the best in the world, it produces great rum and is home to many of the world’s most well-known cocktails like the Mojito, if you like music like me Cuba can’t be beaten forits love of jazz and salsa music, Cuba is full of history and culture and home to many UNESCO world Heritage sites, but for me the most important thing about Cuba is the people, they are genuine, warm welcoming people and Cuba now feels like it’s a home away from home.
Cuba is a very special place, and everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime.
